Another week flies by.....

I can't believe how quickly time is flying at the moment. This week has been really busy again, at work and at home, and overdoing the eating and drinking (especially the drinking...) on Thursday night was probably not a good idea. Still, the weekend is here so we can relax now....yeah right, that's the theory. In practise, we were up at the same time as usual this morning, as Matt had his school singing event thingy. It was quite good, and he behaved for most of the time, just got told off towards the end. I've added a few photos here.
This afternoon should be a bit calmer, but then we're going to Pat and Christine's tonight (our old neighbours) to have a few drinks for his birthday, and then tomorrow we're going to someone elses house for lunch (not sure who...). Maybe between now and then I'll find time to have a nap or two....

Wedding weekend - 1200km in the car!!

What a great and (very) tiring weekend! Two of our friends from La Rochelle tied the knot (finally), so we all went to Chatelaillon for the special day. The wedding was really nice, the weather was great, and the food and drink was lovely. The only problem was that we had to travel 1200km to get there and back, and when you've eaten like a horse and drunk enough for three people then it's quite hard! The kids loved it though, and it was nice to get away, even for such a short period.
I've added some photos here. There could have been loads more, but I had to chuck most of them away because the quality was very bad. Still not used to the new camera I guess... I didn't get any photos of the evening reception either, but that had more to do with not being able to focus properly than anything else....
Going back to work today was hard!

Ben's 6th Birthday

Ben is six today! He was up at the crack of dawn (6.15 to be exact), and has been really excited all morning. He's had loads of cards and presents (thanks to all those who sent stuff) and was really happy! He has just left to go to the big park where we are having his birthday party. His brother is a bit jealous, but we're having a joint party for them so Matt will be getting some pressies later too.
It is really hot and sunny here today so it should be good fun, although the idea of running around after 15 kids is quite daunting! I should be able to add some piccies of all of this some time tomorrow....

Well, it finally happened here...some wally managed to leave some obscene comments for one of the news items. When you add a comment now you'll have to put in your email address too, so that I can keep track of what is being added. It's a bit annoying, but at least it should help avoid having the site pirated....

Rowing competition in Marseillan

Steph took part in the first day of a rowing competition today, in a town near here called Marseillan. I went with the boys to watch the last race, and managed to get some nice photos, although she wasn't with her usual team (see here). Tomorrow the serious competition starts, with the knock out stages in the morning and the finals in the afternoon. I'm sure we'll make it along to support her, as the competition is taken very seriously here! More tomorrow.....

UPDATE - DAY 2
The second day of the rowing competition in Marseillan was not as successful as the first, and Steph's team did not qualify for the afternoon rounds (photos here). Still, it gave us all a chance to get out and cheer her on. It's Mother's Day in France today, so to all of you mothers out there (especially my own...), Happy Mother's Day !
