Ben moves up to next judo belt!

Ben has moved up to the white and yellow belt in judo, and his belt presentation ceremony was today. I've added a few photos here, but I forgot to put a memory card in the camera so could only take a few...(no comments please !). I think that he really enjoys it, and seems to be much more confident about falling on the floor, rolling over etc etc. Plus he has a good advantage as he is twice as big as the other kids of his age! (just slightly exaggerated)

The arrival of Ellie Madison Hayward.

Just want to let you all know that Georgina and Mike are now the proud parents of a baby girl, born 24th May, weighing 6lbs 11ozs. Both mother and baby are doing well and are at home. Liz and Roger are now grandparents. Richard has some photos which I am sure he will add soon. I am sure you will all want to join with me, in sending our congratulations to the family.

New digital camera has arrived!

After my last digital camera died on me while we were away in Portugal, I had to order another one, which arrived a few days ago. It's a Panasonic FZ8, far more advanced than my previous one, so I dare say it'll take me some time to get used to. The photos look very good though, and it doesn't have a 10 second delay before it actually takes a photo! I can even take photos of things that are moving and they come out really well (like the ones of Ben jumping on this page). On the old camera they would just have come out as a blur.....
Should be able to add more over the weekend, as Steph has a rowing competition that I hope we'll be able to go and watch.

Kerry's Wedding, May 19th 2007

Kerry and Andy celebrated their wedding with lots of friends and family at The Granary Hotel and Restaurant, Shenstone nr Worcs. Everyone enjoyed the wedding breakfast. The speeches were very moving. Then in the evening there was a super buffet and a disco. Everyone had a dance including then oldies. I have sent Richard some photos, and I am sure he will add some to the site soon.

Some great ones in there, even saw Dad dancing which got me worried for a bit, until I saw the mass of empty beer glasses on one of the tables! Kerry was beautiful, and it was nice to see what Andy looks like too. We would have loved to be there...maybe we'll be able to come to the Christenings.... EDIT AGAIN: turns out that I have already met Andy, so I apologise for that...but it was almost seven years ago now.....

Holiday bliss in the Algarve!

Well, we're back now from 10 lovely days in the Algarve, where sunbathing, sleeping, lounging in the pool and drinking lots of rosé wine were the only things on the menu. The photos we have are therefore a bit limited in theme, but I still hope you like them (click here to see them).
The trip home was pretty hard, 17 hours in the car is a bit long for the kids, and it's really difficult to go back to work after such a relaxing break, but I'm sure things will quickly get back to normal...which is more than can be said for the family of little Madeleine who went missing not far from where we were staying in Portugal. It really is tragic that things like that can happen, makes you realise how lucky we are...
